Porn studio Evasive Angles has taken it too far by producing an porn (adult) xxx parody of Alex Haley's Roots a novel written by Alex Haley and first published in 1976. It tells the story of Kunta Kinte, an 18th-century African, captured as an adolescent and sold into slavery in the United States, and follows his life and the lives of his descendants in the U.S. down to Haley

Evasive Angles – the adult entertainment publisher who brought 
you
 uhm, people who are into that sort of thing such XXX titles as “Can’t Be Chappelle’s Show”, “Can’t Be Sanford & Son”, and “Can’t Be Diff’rent Strokes” – have returned with another porn parody. But have they gone too far this time?

Their upcoming release, “Can’t Be Roots XXX Parody: The Untold Story” may just be one of the first adult parodies to actually “cross the line”. Due for a release november 8th 2011, the project has already been met with resistance.

“A couple of the [NAACP] representatives came out with their signs to try to shut it down,” Edward Smith, Director of Sales for Evasive Angles, said. “We were already done, we were just finishing up with some dialogue, so they caused the property owners to try to kick us out. We finished up, but we had a little bit of hassle there. They thought we were putting it in a bad light.”

Evasive claims they aren’t.

“It’s made pro-black, it’s not pro-white,” director and Evasive Angles owner T.T. Boy explained to AVN, a business magazine dedicated to covering the adult entertainment industry, in an interview. “It has comedy in it; it’s something like one of the Dave Chappelle Roots [skits]. The slaves f*** all the white girls, the daughters and the wives of the masters. It’s wild.”

Evasive is betting big on this one. It’s not only a title to court a lot of controversy, it’s the most expensive project the studio’s ever produced. Evasive’s president reveals the reason for the expense:

“We used a $10,000 location, and it looks as real as you can get. The production value is out of the world. We have costumes that are from the 1800s, they’re exact. We have a wagon that’s from 1850. It ended up costing a lot of money, because we had a lot of extras and we had a lot of stuff going on, and the cast is probably about 20 people.”
